Sounds about the same, shifted by about 1,582 years (start of the Gregorian calendar, IIRC). This would work fine, and if the date was *LOVAL, I could use a 10I 0 instead of a 10U 0, to handle the negatives. Converting this to and from a Lillian date would be a task though. I don't see anything in the documentation about this type of date, so I think it would basically be doing the same thing I am doing, but using the 1582 date instead of the 01-01-0001 date to subtract.
