Paul; I think it is brilliant. I can have global procedures (export) in a module and keep procedures in a module local by leaving off export. I can then have global procedures (binding source) in a service program and keep other procedures local to the service program by not including them in the binding source. ILE is all about exposure, what do you want seen and who do you want to see it. If you wanted to export modules in the binding directory you'd list those modules in the module list. IMHO this is was a really bad decision by whoever designed service programs (yeah, it's a waste of time to complain about it now). Paul
