Subfile display crash

I had a problem where my subfile line items weren't being cleared when a
user looked up a new record and I determined that I needed to set the
subfile clear indicator, write the subfile control record to the display,
and then unset the subfile clear indicator before loading in the new
record's line items and displaying again as part of the normal program
loop.  When I did this, however, the program crashed out on my normal
EXFMT statement with a display I/O expception: major return code 83 and
minor return code 22.
