I'll agree with those statements but "IBM seems to understand that some people take longer than others to adopt new techniques." some people also REFUSE to adopt new techniques. IBM seems to understand that some people take longer than others to adopt new techniques. In this instance you see an example of a huge movement for the shop Michael. At least now everyone is beginning to use the same code. That is a huge improvement. There's no rush. Pretty soon someone will "discover" service programs and the'll probably be upset with you for not mentioning them sooner. I was talking with a friend last night about code we work on. He is working on stuff from 1998 and he feels it is old. Heck, I have socks older than that. --------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.martinvt.com --------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Date: 07/27/05 13:30:40 To: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Subject: RE: No Subroutines (was Re: Debugging many subprocedures) > absolutely have to? Try to create a library of reusable code with > subroutines. What a mess. I tried pushing the use of subprocedures/service programs here so all our programs didn't have different versions of the same code. Instead, we are now /COPYing in subroutines. <sigh> Will try again soon. :) Mike -- This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l. .
