Rick,
        My testing showed that the host structure must be entirely
explicitly, referenced defined or using an external data structure.   Is
S2DS a structure based on a sub file?  Can you use the sub file to create an
external DS (DS   E DS EXTNAME(DSPF:REC:[*INPUT|*OUTPUT] or something like
that).  

        If you cannot, then you are probably going to need to create the
host structure with different field names.
