I'm working with a vendor to download a file from their mainframe. I establish a connection, signon successfully, and download the file without any trouble. But, their tech support staff keeps telling me that there are problems because I don't signoff correctly; that I'm not sending an 'end of transmission' acknowledgement. I don't understand how I can be responsible for sending and EOT when I'm receiving, not transmitting. All they can tell me is that the problem is with my 'dial parameters'; and they send me some stuff that is obviously related to the JES-2 mainframe application, which I am not using. I don't see anything in the configuration descriptions for the line, controller, or device relating to SIGNOFF. I tried using the DETACH keyword in the DDS for the BSCF file I'm using, but it's not supported there, only for ICF files. Does anyone out there have any ideas as to how I can satisfy their request and not cause problems in the future? Thanks!
