Brian, This is where you need to use a cursor and the FETCH statement. After doing the fetch, you can check SQLSTATE ( RPG name SQLSTT ). An SQLSTATE of '02000' means after a fetch means no-data returned. If you use a Multi-Row fetch, you can find out how many records were returned by looking at SQLER3.
