Kurt: Another reason for that error message could be that the data structure is defined outside of the SQLRPGLE source member. For example, if there is a LIKE(field) SQL often chokes, especially if the "field" is defined in a /COPY or sometimes in EXTAME(file). Your best bet is to explicitly define each subfield size (5s0, 11a, etc.) instead of using any other references. Although the pre-compiler has improved over the years, it is still an order of magnitude or two behind the rest of the OS. --Bruce Guetzkow
