Ron, That is because your test has the quotes around the e-mail address. His test didn't. -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of RPower@xxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, June 29, 2005 9:50 AM To: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Subject: RE: QCMDEXC Strange, I just tried to duplicate the error, but didn't get one... *-Define stand alone fields----------------------------------------------------- d Cmd s 300A Inz *-------------------------------------------------- * Procedure name: Qcmdexc * Purpose: To allow the running of CL commands * Returns: * Parameter: Cmd => Command to run * Parameter: CmdLen => Length of command to run *-------------------------------------------------- d QCmdExc PR EXTPGM('QCMDEXC') d Cmd 3000A Const Options(*VARSIZE) d CmdLen 15P 5 Const d Cmddbcs 3A Const Options(*NOPASS) c*-------------------------------------------------- c Eval Cmd = 'SNDDST TYPE(*LMSG) ' + c 'TOINTNET((''r-power@xxxxxxxxxxxxx'')) '+ c 'DSTD(TEST) LONGMSG(''tseting email'')' c CallP(E) QCmdExc(Cmd:%Len(Cmd)) c Eval *Inlr = *On Ron Power Programmer Information Services City Of St. John's, NL P.O. I ended up just adding single quotes to the email addresses and it takes care of the problem. The problem isn't really a problem, it just how CL and commands work. Matt -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Fleming, Greg (ED) Sent: Wednesday, June 29, 2005 9:24 AM To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: QCMDEXC I'm using QcmdExc to do a SNDDST email from an RPG program. It worked fine, until the destination email address changed to one that has a dash in it. (e.g. gfleming-1@xxxxxxxxx <mailto:gfleming-1@xxxxxxxxx> ). As I play with it, I find that SNDDST doesn't have a problem with dashes. It seems to be QcmdExc that has the problem. I trapped the error in the PSDS, but it just says CPF0006 "Errors Occurred on Command". Whoever creates such useful messages should be flogged. Does anyone know why QcmdExc doesn't like dashes, and whether I can get around this without moving my SNDDST to a CL ?
