Charles, Check Appendix C of the SQL Reference manual. SQL_NUM is used to declare the SQL_VAR array. The length of the SQL_VAR array depends on the number and types of the fields in the table. Nothing in the SQL Reference or SQL Host Programming manuals describes an upper limit to the value in SQL_NUM. I'd suspect 720 is not an upper limit and but closer to 8000 or higher. Paul
