How to get something meaningfull from QUSLOBJ api field Last Used Date and Time

hi,

i'm trying to determine for some objects the last used time. i'm trying to use 
the QUSLOBJ api. i'm using the record format OBJL0600 to get the field last 
used date and time (position 532). the docu at the ibm information center 
states that it is a char field of size 8. but using the 
CharConverter.byteArraytoString method of the JTopen package only gives me 
trash. how do i get something meaningfull from the byte array?

any ideas?
