You're running into the old record blocking issue. By default, RPG manages the blocking size to optimize performance. When the program "WRITE"s a record to a file, that record may or may not become available to other programs. There are a number of ways around it. My company executed many performance tests before concluding that writing a record to a logical file solves this problem best. That was, however, back on V3R1. Donald R. We now see all 8 records. Why? Buffering issue?
