I'm guessing it's the SFLEND(*MORE) keyword missing.
When you use *MORE it puts More... after the final subfile record. But if
you do not use *MORE it puts the plus sign in the final position on the last
subfile record, hence the field is overlapping the + sign.


You're right that it'll put a plus sign in the last column -- but this won't cause a compile error. It'll just put that plus sign right on top of your field and merrily go about it's business.
