Scott, I'm out of my mind? How about avoiding the ad hominem attack. I'd like to hear more about your problems getting the JVM to run at your shop. Anyone else having JVM crashes like Scott? My shop is only using Java to do some seriously important stuff like customer credit card encryption. Calling the encryption routines in Java from RPG programs. In this case Java is a set of useful APIs we can use to solve problems. I'm not aware of this shop having any trouble with the JVM crashing. We're not using Java just because it's portable. Java is useful for more than portability. Also, I'm basing my 'best JVM' remark on those great high end benchmarks I've recently seen. Paul -- Paul Morgan Senior Programmer Analyst - Retail J.
