I'm a WDSC user. I dropped SEU and forced myself to code entirely in WDSC
for about a month and found quite a difference now. I especially like the
member filters for projects, so that I know exactly what I've worked on
for that project and now what has to be put in production. CTRL-F does a
find quite nicely like ALT-F4 did. The fact that you can show code by
date range is a wonderful idea, you can see all the code you've put in
over a few days, or go back to when a project was worked on previously and
put in a range for those days/months to see what a previous programmer
changed in that time frame. I've found my productivity dropped about 30%
for the first 2 weeks or so, but now it's increased about 40% above what
it was previously. I do miss the split screen though, but they may
implement that feature in the future. Sorry for continuing the discussion
here, but I didn't see it on the WDSC list and wanted to encourage others
to the WDSC. It's also great because you can code Java in the same
editor.

WDSCi vs SEU

I don't know of such a thing. At the moment, it's a matter of using
Code or RSE the best way for your code style. Use it and then use it
some more. But it's certainly not a stupid question.

The one thing that helped me tremendously was to abandon the idea of
using my PC editor as though it were SEU. That is, don't try to edit
the same way you used to. Those years of SEU habits are a direct
result of the limitations of SEU. Code doesn't have those
limitations - it has others :-) and trying to use Code the same as you
use SEU will inevitably result in frustration.

Many people really like the colour coding. I can take it or leave it.
What I love more than anything is the ability to search using regular
expressions. Close second is the ability to compare two source
members and/or edit them both simultaneously in the same window.
Third is the ability to write macros.

I think that finding the places where Code is different will reward
your efforts faster than trying to find the similarities to SEU. On
the other hand, if your coding is really faster in SEU...

This might best be continued on either the Code or WDSC lists. In
particular, a discussion of your pain points with Code that SEU
doesn't exhibit.
