Part of it is to NOT use WDSC as a grey screen version of SEU. For example, learn the WDSC way of copying lines, etc vs using CC this and that SEU type commands. Learn the short cuts. Want to open up a member on the fly? Use Ctl-Shift-I. Beats the snot out of typing in STRSEU SRCFILE(ROB/QRPGLESRC) SRCMBR(AAA) OPTION(2). Want to get a list of members, but don't want to set up a filter? That bottom window - select iSeries Table view. Use the drop down in the top right on that window to "Work with". Very similar to WRKOBJPDM, WRKLIBPDM, WRKMBRPDM. Take a long time to load WDSC? Leave it up all week. Just exit out of members when you leave the office. I don't start and stop my 5250 session for every command I enter - I leave it running. Why would anyone start/stop WDSC for every program they modify? This may sound like a stupid question but I've noticed several in this group using WDSC. I've been playing with it a little but still find I can code about twice as fast in SEU. Is there a tutorial that teaches an old SEU RPG programmer how to be proficient in using WDSC vs. SEU? It just doesn't behave exactly like SEU but that might be because I don't know some of the short cuts. I'm trying to force myself to use it but it's hard to switch. If you use CODE or WDSCi, the commented lines will be in a clearly different colour then the rest of your source.
