I believe the D-specs need a name that the compiler can use to find the
field definitions.  Therefore it can not be a variable.

Is there any way to parameterize the extname(<filename>)?

 

For instance :

 

d slotDS        e ds                  extname( hearslots )

 

The hearlots be a variable which can take any value?
