Calculate the MD5 for each record in the member. Then calculate the MD5 for the entire set of MD5's previously returned. Sort of a technique of self-check digit for the self-check digits. Just write the fixed-length MD5 of each record out to a user space or %alloc() memory and then pass those values as one big string to the MD5 routine. -Bob Cozzi -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Paul Rijke Sent: Tuesday, February 08, 2005 10:14 AM To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Md5 for big object L.s. I try to get a MD5 fingerprint using te programs mentioned in this thread. http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l/200303/msg00008.html Problem is when using objects bigger than the max. allocation size. We like to use it for testing member integrity. Members in data files are often bigger than the maximum %alloc size. Does anyone know how to address this issue?
