Sorry, that's not true at all. Indeed, that's exactly what the ALIGN keyword does, it aligns the DS subfields.



Use the ALIGN keyword on the DS itself, but I think RPG aligns DS's anyway
so it shouldn't be an issue for you.

No, RPG does not align a DS on a 4-byte boundary by default.

You're thinking of the way that memory allocations are aligned, which is sort of related... but the API only accepts one parameter (and thus one memory allocation) for all of the keys it receives. It requires that the various keys passed by aligned on 4 byte boundaries within that single allocation.... which won't be done automatically in RPG.
