Hi Mike <snip> A number of you have mentioned service programs I have started to create prototyped procedures but not service programs What are the differences (Coding, Calling, Compiling) </snip> Service programs are basically one or more procedures compiled into modules and bound by the CRTSRVPGM command. This is useful if the procedures are used in many programs. If you want to change the processing of the procedure, you only need to re-create the module, and do an UPDSRVPGM, and all calling programs will be updated automatically (if the prototype doesn't change). There is a wealth of info on these in the IBM manuals, and also in the Sorcerer's Guide redbook. -- "Enter any 11-digit prime number to continue..."
