RE: Overlay not working ?

I could be wrong, but I think you need OVERLAY on the first record also.  

Make sure you're not using any keywords like CLEAR or CLRL on the second
record format.

Out of curiosity, are you attempting to display any other records, like a
message subfile?

I have used overlay command to keep the 1st record format on screen and
display 2nd record but inspite using OVERLAY on 2nd record, the 1st record
disappearing, any idea what could be the reason ?
