Good News Everybody!

A new search engine is coming soon.

As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

The TESTN and the LOOKUP opcodes still require the user of Indicators.
LOOKUP only uses them for generating the correct look up routine (HI/LO/EQ)
that you want.
TESTN is the only opcode that still needs and reacts to the response
indicators. But it seems like TESTN is being phased out because you can do a
%CHECK('0123456789':MYVAR) instead.

Subject: Indicators -- not needed anymore???

All,

I realize that LR, U1-U8, M1-M8 are still used.

But assuming the use of INDDS for display and print files and the use of
bifs like %found and %eof; is there anything that still requires the use of
IN01-IN99???

I can't think of anything. Even the overflow indicator on external printer
files can be named at v5r2.

Thanks,
