There's that price thing again...

Perhaps this is to myopic of a view (i.e. the cost thing).  One
has to wonder the true cost or ROI when you consider that, in many
cases, I can have a single version that can compile and execute
on the iSeries and Windows.  While its a far cry from "write once,
run.....", it certainly beats having to convert business logic
to another language simply to run it under Windows.  If I keep
to certain guidelines, I can even generate a java class and run
it on Solaris.  That is considerable bang-for-the-buck.

Fantastic?  I'm not sure I would use that adjective, however,
VARPG and RPG are effective tools in a developers toolbox.

No doubt that VARPG is fantastic.  If it were affordable, it would be
