Alan, I have been previously rapped on the knuckles on this list for suggesting use of ILE programs in the default activation group by use of DFTACTGRP(*NO) ACTGRP(*CALLER). I was told it could cause all sorts of weird and wonderful things to happen. But this is still the way I do it. Im not recommending it to anyone else, but I've always done this, and have yet to experience any problems with it. cheers Colin.W Extension 5800 Direct dial 0870 429 5800 -----Original Message----- From: Alan Campin [mailto:Alan.Campin@xxxxxxx] Sent: 09 November 2004 04:31 To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Named Activation Groups Does anyone know of a current IBM recommendation for Named Activation Groups. I see stuff from 1995 but nothing current, or at least, that I can find. My understanding is that ILE programs running in the default activation group (OPM) running slower than ILE programs running in named activation groups. That ILE programs are meant to run in ILE activation groups -- This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
