JUST ran in to this today. Ended up fixing the authorization list so that the users PC signon also had access. I know that NetServer supports something called a Guest Userid. You can click on NetServer properties and see this. Ain't exactly sure how it's used. Didn't seem to make a rat's bit of difference today. Probably not RPG related though. I did just about that exact email too. In that email I include the URL link to the file on the IFS, as follows: Your file is available by clicking on the following link: file:\\mydomain.com\ifsfolder1\ifsfold2\yourfile.csv The problem is that some users (most?) can not click on the link and have it open Excel. In stead, it does nothing or gives them a message box that says "Cannot open file...". By changing some user IDs and passwords to the AS/400 to be the same as the network user ID and password, it seems to work. But for others it does not. I don't know what area to look in to try to resolve this issue. Any suggestions? -Bob -- This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
