Just to add to Scott's list (I'm sure he didn't think of this because he
never experiences them <grin>)

d) Decimal data errors.  Since the buffer is moved as one "lump" no decimal
data errors will occur on the read.  Only when a field in error is touched
in some way.  This makes it possible to use MONITOR to catch the errors
_and_ know which field is in error and perhaps even fix it.
