FEOD is what I prefer in this case.  the FRCRATIO will work but is also
easier to change by more people....

Is it an Update file or Output-only file?  If it's Output-only and the file
is not uniquely keyed, then they're likely sitting in a buffer.  If you need
to see the record as soon as it's written, you can override the file so that
records don't get buffered.
