RPG doesn't check the class of an object; it just passes the reference to Java and lets Java determine whether the object is of the right class. The compile time checking on the CLASS keyword for a constructor is the only class checking that the RPG compiler does. (You don't have to code the CLASS keyword for a constructor.)
