Working as designed.....  Nullable date fields must still (as always) have a
valid date value in them.  The fact that the null indicator is set means
nothing unless you implement the code to treat the field as null.

No! It does not work. Even when I specify for a date field in DDS
DFT(*NULL), the field was initialized in RPG with *SYS (current date).

And because the subfields of the data structure in RPG don't have any
null-indicators, the RESET operation cannot set them to null. After the
following WRITE operation to the file, date fields have the current date
with null indicator off. :-(
