I was thinking about: in/out/io = parameters in a procedure interface. Thought it might be nice to have the indication of how they are used. But I supposed that if VALUE and CONST keywords are used when appropriate, the prefix might not be needed. dsp/prt = display and printer files respectively. I'm used to using suffixes if I need to identify the data type of a variable. For example for use on a Data structure or pointer. Not sure if that will be part of our new standards or not. wkRtnDtaDS or myRtnDta_ds myRtnDta_ptr Speaking of qualified DS'es, I was tossing around the idea of a prefix for template DS'es. In other words, a DS that is not intended to actually be used except in the LIKEDS keyword. One thing I'd like to do is work in conjunction with the PC people so that our RPG IV standards bear some resemblance to their standards. That will benefit the one guy who does both now and I suspect more in the future. But, they seem to like the strMyName, intMyAge type of convention. I can't stand it ;-) Charles
