I think what he means is that, instead of a traditional, or prototyped, CALL he wants to do something like C/EXEC SQL C+ CALL MYSQLPROC :MyHostVar C/END-EXEC And wondering what the syntax was for the CALL in RPG. And how to pass them back from the sql stored procedure itself. Good references though. That should be a good start. Just one using a select > statement, receivng a param and returning one. I'm not sure what 'internal procedure' means, but the FAQ has links on learning SQL http://faq.midrange.com as well as to the RPG IV Redbook. Also, the archives here have a bunch of SQL references. http://archive.midrange.com Search the RPG list for 'SQL' 'SQL SELECT' 'SELECT' and the like. --buck -- This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
