I don't think CLRPFM would work since you can't delete records to begin

Could you create a new flat file that allows the delete, copy the data
over to it, use CLRPFM to clear all the data in your file, delete the
records you want to and copy it back to the file again?

Is ALWDLT(*NO) to *YES possible?

I have a client that has a file with the ALWDLT(*NO) (allow delete
records)
option set to *NO. I need to change this attribute to *YES so I can delete
some garbage records, not to mention the fact that they have 10 years
worth
of records in the file, and they only really need the last month of so of
records to be retained. CHGPF doesn't permit it.
It's an old S/36E "flat" file so there's no DDS to recreate it and cpyf,
etc. It has two fields K00001 and F00001 in it.
Man, oh man, I do dislike this S36E stuff! Yikes!
