Hello Rich,

Problem 1: The packed number is too large for the target integer. The largest value an integer can hold is:
unsigned int 2**32 therefore 4,294,967,296
signed int 2**(32-1) therefore 2,147,483,647
your expected packed value 240,395,104,605

Beginning to see the root cause?

Problem 2: The field length is too short. Length is not bytes but digits. Length in this case should be 13 because the packed field is 13,0. I would expect the API to fail with MCH1202-Decimal data error because a length of 7 will omit the sign thus the value will not be a valid packed decimal number.

Problem 3: The number is not a string. Remove *STRING from prototype.

Here is a prototype for QXXPTOD:

D QXXPTOD PR LIKE(double_t)
D packed 16 OPTIONS(*VARSIZE) CONST
D digits LIKE(int_t) VALUE
D scale LIKE(int_t) VALUE

Regards,
Simon Coulter.
