Bob, If the file is a fixed format file, you can use CPYFRMIMPF to populate a regular physical file. You can also use the IFS API's to read the text file directly. If you search the archives, I'm sure you'll find plenty of examples of both. Matt -----Original Message----- From: Bob O. This file is created by UPS from their Worldship software. All it will have is an order number and their tracking number. Can logical files be created over a folder file? Will I need to use OVRDBF? Or is there some other way to get the data into the RPG program? Thanks for any help. _________________________________________________________________ MSN Toolbar provides one-click access to Hotmail from any Web page - FREE download! http://toolbar.msn.click-url.com/go/onm00200413ave/direct/01/ -- This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
