Hi Jeff, I disagree with some of the writers on this list that say you should not learn RPG/400. Although, ILE will be used more and more in the future, RPG/400 is the basis for all of the new bells and whistles that we are now using. You need to know a little history before you can push into the future. The basic RPG manuals that you can access through the InfoCenter are solid. They do require a little plowing but everything is there. Also remember, to be truly productive, you will also have to understand CL, DDS. All the references that have been suggested to you are very good but start with the vanilla first and then you will enjoy the other flavors much more. Also please remember the only "dumb question" is the one that is not asked. Jack Derham Direct Systems, Inc. Marietta, GA
