I also need a solution to this issue. At present when I get an 'invalid update' I force the 'after image' to be the 'before image' but the user does not know the update was rejected. I was thinking of sending an escape message to the calling program via the message apis. Dont know if this will work. Not got around to it yet. I am trying to implement a way to get member level security via a trigger program.
