Terry, Got your offline copy of code. Few comments. 1) Just to see if it is an issue with the open files (or does the cycle automatically close preexecution tables?) try a simple program that has no files but still throws the errors. 2) The stuff done by the preexecution tables could be done with a referential constraint instead of the trigger -unless- the file(s) have multiple members. Then you'd be in the same boat that I was in and have to use the trigger method also. 3) If you use UPDDTA or some other method of inserting these errors, do you still get the same joblog messages: CPF5129, CPF5147?
