I am using length notation for the trigger buffer in my program and am getting unexpected results. There is a blank gap between the 'Original record null byte map' and the 'New record' fields. The information I have on trigger buffers does not identify this gap. Thus far I have created two different trigger programs and this 'blank gap' is 15 characters and 18 characters respectively. What is this gap and why is it variable? The following is the data structure for a file with 6 fields and a record length of 24 TrgBuffer DS FileName 10 LibName 10 MbrName 10 TrgEvent 1 TrgTime 1 CmtLevel 1 Reserved1 3 CCSID 10I 0 Reserved2 8 OrgRecOffset 10I 0 OrgRecLength 10I 0 OrgRecNulOff 10I 0 OrgRecNulLen 10I 0 NewRecOffset 10I 0 NewRecLength 10I 0 NewRecNulOff 10I 0 NewRecNulLen 10I 0 Reserved3 16 OrgRecord 24 OrgRecordNul 6 blank_gap 18 NewRecord 24 NewRecordNul 6 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Troy Bryant Analyst Programmer Patrick Autocare.
