I know I'm rather late to the game, and there have been many other excellent
suggestions, but this is probably how I would handle the problem


     c                   eval      p_ListEntry = p_ListHeader
     c                   eval      increment = DataOffset

     c                   for       EntryNo = 1 to NumEntries

     c                   eval      p_ListEntry = p_ListEntry + increment

     c***       ... at this point, the JOBL0100 data structure contains
     c***       ... one of the entries of the list.

     c                   eval      increment = EntrySize
     c                   endfor
