if you are on V5R2M0, your problem can be solved with one single select 
statement: 

Select   Distinct ' ', a.ClientNo,                             
                  (Select   Count(Distinct b.ClientNo)         
                      from  Sales b                          
                      where a.ClientNo >= b.ClientNo) as Count  
   from  Sales a                                             
Union                                                         
Select 'Total', ' ', count(Distinct c.ClientNo)                
   from  Sales c
