Your manager, in my opinion, has much to learn about code maintenance. Fewer lines do not an easier to maintain program make. Remember that code change I suggested offlist? Was that easier or more difficult to understand than what you had? Attempts to make fewer lines of code for the sake of fewer lines often create programs that require many extra hours to understand. Worse, they can be easily misunderstood. Just my opinion, of course, backed by some experience dealing with such programs. Donald R.
