I suppose whether it's the right list depends on whether the SQL is embedded in an RPG program. If so, you don't really need a separate field to count records. Check out the SQL manual at the following link and read about the COUNT and other scaler functions. http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/index.htm?info/db2/rbafzms t02.htm The manual on SQL programming in languages such as RPG may be found here: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/info/rzajp/rzajpmst02.htm Hope that helps. Donald R. Fisher, III Project Manager Roomstore Furniture Company (804) 784-7600 extension 2124 DFisher@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <clip> HI I am not sure if this is the right list for an SQL question, as I don't see any specific SQL List. I would like to know how to add a column for each record simply as a sequential number and then getting a total at the end (count). I do not see this anywhere on my STRSQL on the AS/400. If this is the wrong list, please re-direct me to the proper one. <clip>
