They are 2 question here. Here is a suggestion for the first one (how to go to batch): If all the RPG program does is input the dates to use for the report, I would suggest the instead of calling the 2nd CL, it could return the date selected as parameters to the 1rst CL that then could call or submit the 2nd CL. But beware (this may answer your second question about decimal errors) when you submit a call to batch, all numerical values will be considered packed, 15 digit with 5 decimal position as opposed to the interactive call where the defenition of the variable (DCL in CL) is respected. To solve this issue, you can find numerous idea in the archive. The first CL calls an RPG that prompts for date. This RPG Currently then calls a second CL, which does the rest of the job. I would like this call to to go into Batch instead of currently as interactive without having to code a new CL that will simply Submit the second CL, Is there a way to do this? Another problem I noticed is that when I did create the additional CL to submit the second CL, I entered dates (from *to) twice and a second job went onto the job queue. When this second job ran it bombed on a data decimal error. Do I need to close Files or something else to ensure that this wouldn't happen again?
