Lets say aMsgCode = '12bbbbbbbb'   (Where b is a blank).
After execution of step 1, the value of bMsgCode is same as aMsgCode,
but I want the value of bMsgCode as '12nnnnnnnn'    (Where n is the null
value).
And then translate to ASCII.

I hope you understand my question.


By the term "null value", do you mean X'00'?

If so, try something like this for step 1:

bMsgCode = %trim(aMsgCode) + x'0000000000';
