Then you could use EVALR and pad it on the left with zeros.
For example:

   evalR   Phone = '000' + %TrimL(szPhone)

Seems to work pretty good in my applications.

How about if you need it left justified?  Like a phone number entry field
where you only have a partial entry (like the area code) and you want to
compare it to a full 10 digit numeric field but from right-to-left.
