Without telling us how many companies and how many years in the file it is 
difficult to tell how many occurences your MODS have.

My suggestion is to read in the records of one company into the MODS using the 
year as OCCURrence (year 2000 = 100). In this case your MODS have a maximum of 
100 occurences. With each company you clear the MODS and fill it again.

Per year move the active structure of the MODS (based on occurence) to another 
DS where the monthly values are overlayed with an array.

Process your data: XFOOT, move to extarnal file, etc.

Just some thoughts.
