'continue' is still cleaner, IMO. If I use an ELSE I now have part of my mainline in a subroutine instead of in the mainline where it should be (now my local variables need to be moved global, etc). My example should have had a couple more scenarios within that WHILE loop that used the 'continue' statement to make it more evident as a favored solution.
