try this for size:

/free
     mnISODate = atoi(%char(dateField:*iso0));
/end-free

We are at V5R2 but this should also work on V5R1.

Moving a date field into a numeric field






I have the following field definitions ...

D mnISODate                              S                               8
  0
D dateField                              S D

... and I want to replace the following line of code with the equivalent
free format code.
C                *ISO                            Move            dateField
         mnISODate

We are currently at V5R1, and I have been unable to work out how to do
this.

Anyone know how to do this?
