I have had the data mapping error before when using the FORMAT keyword in the DDS. Re-compiling the file solved the problem. -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of rob@xxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, January 26, 2004 9:18 AM To: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Subject: RE: FW: data mapping error Good question. Hey folks, any idea why this dies, with the specified compile option of *USRCTL? For example, does your program bomb on Read Myfile; Or on: MyWorkField = MyFileField; Rob Berendt -- Group Dekko Services, LLC Dept 01.073 PO Box 2000 Dock 108 6928N 400E Kendallville, IN 46755 http://www.dekko.com "Angela Wawrzaszek" <awawrzaszek@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 01/23/2004 03:28 PM Please respond to RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries <rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To <rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc Fax to Subject FW: data mapping error I have an ILE program that is reading files that were created with a SQL script. Some of the fields in the file are null-capable. I have compiled the program with *USRCTL on the allow null value field. This USUALLY takes care of getting any errors for null fields. However once in a while I will get a data mapping error within an ILE program while reading a particular file. All I do is go into that file & record it is bombing on and blank through any of the blank fields. Then everything is fine. Why does it bomb out if I have used *USRCTL? What can I do to prevent this? Thankyou!!
