keyed data queques -- RPG400-L

A question about keyed data queques

 

When I created a keyed data queue length of 8 and key of 8 the data did
not show up using dspdataq. With trial and error I found that if I added
a minimum of 25 to the length the data by creating the data queue length
of 33 with key of 8 that data showed up. Has anyone come upon this
before.
